CAI forges links with the RDI

Following a landmark decision at board level, followed by a joint presentation at the CAI Trade Fair, the CAI has started a partnership with the Registered Digital Installer (RDI) Licensing Body.  This signposts a new direction for vocational qualification and licensing in the signal reception industry.  The decision marks an end to much speculation and much more negotiation, but a new initiative for raising the level of competence in the aerial installing industry.

The main achievement will be the provision of a direct pathway for CAI members to achieve the digital ‘tick’ as registered digital installers.  A national qualification network delivering the NVQ in Signal Reception is to be implemented. This will enable CAI members to enrol with the CAI Education & Skills Co-ordination department, complete the NVQ via a providing college and then receive a digital tick licence – all via CAI membership.

The enrolment, licensing procedure and costing being formulated will be exclusive to CAI members and more details will be circulated to all CAI members when more formal agreements have been reached.

In the meantime, if you would like further information on how the process is being put together please email the CAI’s senior executive Tim Jenks and he will endeavour to respond as soon as possible.  In view of the interest in this project…. please be patient…an instant reply may not be possible!
