The Confederation of Aerial Industries (CAI) is the trade association for the television and radio signal distribution industry.

The CAI has membership categories for everyone from small domestic aerial and satellite installers, to the largest commercial system design and installation companies as well as the manufacturers and distributors who serve the industries need for quality products.

Membership Categories.

The following subscriptions are valid for twelve months from April 2008

The Categories of membership referred to in item 7 of the Application Form are as follows:-

A - DOMESTIC

This category covers those companies who undertake domestic installations only.

Subscription: The annual subscription payable is as follows:-

£280.00 for companies with 1 -5 employees*
£430.00 for companies with 6-29 employees*
£855.00 for companies with 30-99 employees*
£1680.00 for companies with 100 plus employees*

* employee figure is to be inclusive of proprietor, directors, part-time employees, as appropriate.

B - SYSTEMS

This category covers those companies who undertake systems installations to include the following:-

(i) MATV/CATV
(ii) Cable TV
(iii) SMATV
(iv) Other telecommunications systems to include Warden Call, Controlled Entry and data transmission.

(NOTE: This category can include companies who undertake both systems installations and domestic installations (Category A) at no extra cost provided the relevant references are given in item 15 of the Application Form).

Subscription: The annual subscription payable is as follows:-

£430.00 for companies with 1 -5 employees*
£595.00 for companies with 6-29 employees*
£1110.00 for companies with 30-99 employees*
£1840.00 for companies with 100 plus employees*

C - MANUFACTURER / DISTRIBUTOR

This category covers companies who manufacture and / or distribute aerials, cable and allied equipment.

Please supply a current catalogue giving your full range of products.

(NOTE: If a company in this category is also involved in installation work, then this should be noted on the application form and the appropriate installation references supplied. It is only necessary, however, to pay the subscription for category C).

Subscription: The annual subscription payable is as follows:-

£565.00 for companies with 1 -5 employees*
£910.00 for companies with 6-29 employees*
£1160.00 for companies with 30 plus employees*
£1895.00 for companies with 100 plus employees*

* employee figure is to be inclusive of proprietor, directors, part-time employees, as appropriate.

D - RETAILER / RENTAL COMPANY

Retailers and rental companies in this category must agree to use a CAI recognised installer to carry out installations wherever possible.

(NOTE: If a company has its own in-house installation department, they must also be registered under the appropriate category (i.e. A or B above).

Subscription: The annual subscription payable is:-

£555.00 flat rate fee for small local retailers / rental companies
£915.00 flat rate fee for national retailers / rental companies

E - TRANSMISSION PLATFORM OPERATOR (TPO)

All companies / organisations

Subscription: The annual subscription payable is:-

£1500.00 flat rate fee.

F - AFFILIATE

This includes those companies, organisations etc linked with the Industry but not generally covered in the above categories.

£590.00 Broadcasting Organisations
£310.00 Associated Organisations and Advisory/Regulatory bodies

G - CONSULTANT

A Consultant shall be an individual / company who acts in an advisory capacity to the Industries. The election of an individual / company as a Consultant does not imply any level of technical ability but will be indicated by the professional qualifications of the individual(s) concerned.

Subscription: The annual subscription payable is £166.00

ADDITIONAL TRADING NAMES

An annual subscription for each additional trading name registered with the CAI is 75% of appropriate category.

BRANCH OFFICES

An annual subscription for each additional branch office registered with the CAI is £43.00

VAT

Subscriptions are subject to VAT at the current rate.

REMITTANCE

Please note: It is not necessary to send your remittance with the application. Once your application has been approved, you will be notified of the correct subscription payable to enable you / your company to be registered into membership. Cheque's, when requested, should be made payable to "The Confederation of Aerial Industries Limited". We also accept payments by Mastercard or Visa.
