CAI – ‘Certificate of Compliance’ Scheme The CAI is still running the certificate of compliance scheme and we still see a steady level of interest. The scheme hopes that housing decision makers will see the scheme as cost effective to buy, as it focuses on on- going maintenance of systems rather than simply waiting for something to go wrong. The scheme is exclusive to CAI registered systems installers and provides a pathway to an immediate income from the audit process and issue of compliance certification. Training Our offering of the working safely @ height refresher certification with an assessment officer coming to you has proved to be a big success. We can report that around (7 so far in 2018 have been assessed), and now that we have our own course solely provided by the CAI we aim to see a lot more of you. The reason the course has been such a huge success is because we come to you; so many installers are no longer losing a day’s work to attend. We will continue to look at ways of introducing learning through the internet and direct visits, as we appreciate this is very convenient for many. Misuse of the CAI logo It remains imperative that our members keep a look out for the misuse of the CAI logo. Many installers know that they have to apply to us, provide various pieces of evidence and pay a yearly subscription but still we find companies using the logo illegally. The CAI logo is a registered and protected one, and if reported to the local Trading Standards office could lead to a prosecutional offence. If you know of anyone that is using the logo and shouldn’t be, please email Suzanne.hamm- bury@cai.org.uk and I will be happy to look into it.
