DTT & Freeview Updates
Freeview DTT Multiplexes (Mux) and Free Ad-Supported TV (FAST) streamed channels that reflect the following changes to the network made today, 22 November 2023.
NB: A retune may be needed on some earlier devices to adopt the new service name changes referred to below. Freeview Play and many other SMART TV products will automatically update.
- CBS Reality at LCN67 becomes TRUE CRIME on the SDN/COM4 Mux.
- Reality Extra at LCN68 becomes TRUE CRIME EXTRA on the SDN/COM4 Mux.
- Horror Extra at LCN69 is now LEGEND XTRA on the Local TV/COMUX available to some but not all homes.
- That’s 80s at LCN80 becomes Best Xmas Music for the festive season on the G-Man mux serving Manchester only.
There are also changes to broadband delivered FAST services for those with broadband internet connected Freeview Play & some other SMART TV devices:
- Moochi a new streamed service for pre-school children has launched at LCN213 on the SDN/COM4 mux.
- Asharq News at LCN272 has now transferred to MBC (My Binge Channel) on the SDN/COM4 mux.
- Asharq News moves to LCN274 on the SDN/COM4 mux.
- TV Extra a new PORTAL at LCN291 has launched on the SDN/COM4 mux providing mainly Create and Craft services available elsewhere.
- Vision TV, one of the longest running streaming PORTALs has ended at LCN261 on the SDN/COM4 mux.
- Arise News the Asian streamed service at LCN262 has also been terminated on the SDN/COM4 mux.

- Sky Mix has launched at LCN 11 replacing Pick on the Arqiva A/COM5
- Sky Arts has relocated from LCN11 to LCN36 on Arqiva A/COM5
- GREAT! Christmas mix has replaced GREAT! Christmas+1 at LCN 63 on the Arqiva B/COM6
- That’s Christmas has replaced That’s 60s at LCN65 on the Arqiva A/COM5
- That’s 60s replacesThat’s 70s at LCN71 Arqiva B/COM6
- That’s 90s replaces That’s 80s at LCN75 on the Arqiva A/COM5 mux.
- On the Manchester dedicated G-Man Mux only:
- That’s Xmas MCR has launched at LCN 76.
- That’s 60s MCR has moved from LCN76 to LCN77, replacing That’s 70s MCR.
- New FAST streaming channels for those with broadband connected Freeview Play and some other SMART TV products include:
- Amazing Factsa religious streaming channel has launched at LCN288 on the SDN/COM4 mux:
- NYX a Horror entertainment streaming channel has moved from the Channel Box Portal at LCN271 to its own dedicated LCN 289 on the SDN/COM4
- MECH+ a robotics, science & engineering-based entertainment streaming channel has launched at LCN290 on the SDN/COM4 mux
Updated Freeview DTT Multiplex (Mux) and Freeview Play FAST Streaming services slides to reflect:
- The 29 September return of Ideal World under new TJC ownership at LCN51 on the Arqiva B/COM6 mux.
- The 02 October launch of Japan’s NHK World Premium the first subscription service at LCN286 on the SDN/COM4 mux that allows viewers to watch NHK Japanese language content on any device that supports Freeview Play and is connected to Broadband Internet.
- It becomes the second NHK streamed service at LCN286 on the SDN/COM4 mux sits alongside the current FAST NHK World-Japan international service in English with the latest from Japan and Asia.
New Updates:
- An updated Freeview ( Everyone’s TV) DTT multiplex (mux) slide and:
- An associated updated list of Freeview Play FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming Television) broadcasted LCN based broadband channels/portals
Both reflecting changes made on 20 September and listed below:
- Reality Xtra at LCN68 has moved from the COMUX/LOCAL mux to the SDN/COM4 mux and becomes more widely available as a result to those receiving 6 muxes from the main/primary transmitters ( not relays).
- Horror Xtra at LCN69 moved from the SDN/COM4 mux to the COMUX/LOCAL mux and becomes less widely available as a result.
- Al Arabiya at LCN273 on the SDN/COM4 mux has been removed, the same service continues as before at LCN 275.
- Newsmax a new broadband streamed service has launched at LCN286 on the SDN/COM4 mux. Newsmax was originally available within the Vision TV streaming portal at LCN264.
- NHK World-Japan another new broadband streamed service has launched at LCN287 on the SDN/COM4 mux.
- Zee TV has launched its new Zee World streaming portal at LCN278 on the SDN/COM4 mux replacing the place holder that was introduced at this position last month.
Four channels are available through the portal:
- Zest focuses on lifestyle and food shows.
- Zing has Bollywood, music and youth culture content.
- Zee World provides English dubbed drama series and telenovelas (soaps).
- Zee Punjabi caters to the Punjabi-speaking community.
The Zee World Portal is free-to-stream and available to all broadband internet connected Freeview Play devices and possibly some older Freeview HD devices.
Updated Freeview FAST broadband delivered services slide to reflect the changes of 13 September below:
- Al Jazeera English has been launched at LCN267 on the SDN/COM4 mux.
- Al Jazeera Arabic has been launched at LCN268 on the SDN/COM4 mux.
The above services can be received by those with broadband connected Freeview Play HBBTV based TV products and some earlier Freeview Smart TV devices.
Note that the above IP version of Al Jazeera English at LCN267 is in addition to the terrestrially broadcasted version of the service on Freeview at LCN235 on the Arqiva B/COM6 mux.
Updated Indigo Freeview DTT Mux Slide to reflect changes made on the 2 September:
- GREAT! romance changed to GREAT! christmas at LCN52 on the Arqiva B/[COM6 mux.
- GREAT! romance+1 at LCN63 changed to GREAT! christmas+1 on the Arqiva B/[COM6 mux.
Updated Indigo Freeview DTT Mux Slide to reflect changes made on the 2 September:
- ITVBe+1 took over the vacated CITV capacity and operates with extended broadcast hours 0500-2100 at LCN58 on the SDN/COM4 mux.

GREAT! Movies+1 at LCN61 has moved from the COMUX/LOCAL mux to Arqiva B/COM6 and reaches more homes as a result.

Indian service Zee World has added a placeholder launch slate on the SDN/COM4 mux at LCN278 in advance of its yet to be confirmed launch of a streaming only service for Freeview Play broadband connected products .

Together TV+1 has moved to LCN 285 from LCN 90, converting to a full-time streaming only service on the Arqiva B/COM6 Mux.
Some viewers may need to retune their equipment to adopt the changes above.
Updated Freeview DTT Multiplex (Mux) and Freeview Play FAST streaming services slides that reflect the following changes made on 19 July 2023:
- GREAT! romance at LCN 52 has moved from the COMUX/Local Mux to Arqiva B/COM6. (It becomes more widely available as a result – to homes receiving Freeview from main /primary transmitters and not 3 mux relay sites.) Old copy of the service temporarily moves to LCN 793.
- GREAT! movies+1 has closed at LCN 61 on the COMUX/Local Mux.
- Clic the S4C Welsh on-demand service has launched across the UK at LCN100 via the Freeview Play online portal on the D3-4/PSB2 mux.
- Childrens TV service POP at LCN 206 has moved from Arqiva B/COM6 to the COMUX/Local Mux and sees its reach reducing as a result. POP old copy temporarily moves to LCN220 from LCN 206 – with retune slate on the Arqiva B/COM6 mux.
- POP Max has launched at LCN 208 on the COMUX/Local Mux.
- POP Player the FAST online streaming service has moved to LCN212 from LCN 208 on the SDN/COM4 mux.
- New Football online streaming service Shots! has launched at LCN 276 on the SDN/COM4 mux.
- ADULT Xpanded TV has moved up to LCN 671 from LCN 675 on the Arqiva B/COM6 mux.
- The old copy of Together TV that was temporarily placed at LCN790 on the SDN/COM4 mux has been removed.
Updated Freeview DTT Multiplex (Mux) Slide reflecting:
- Ideal World the shopping channel at LCN51 on the Arqiva B/COM 6 mux has suspended its services and gone off-air.
This follows the Peterborough based service being put up for sale last month. The suspension follows a last-ditch effort to find a buyer for the broadcaster.
Initially live programmes were increasingly replaced by pre-recorded shows. However, at 3pm on Monday 3 July 2023, the channel came off air fully.
Ideal World’s online store is also offline where visitors are greeted with a message saying the broadcaster hopes to be back online soon.
